Ewan Taylor joins Towers Watson
Towers Watson has added to its Australian executive compensation team.
The company announced that it had appointed superannuation industry veteran, Ewan Taylor, as a senior consultant.
Confirming the appointment, Towers Watson head of executive compensation, Jon Finlay said Taylor's background made him an excellent addition to the team, given increased regulatory and governance focus on executive and director remuneration in superannuation.
"Ewan's involvement with superannuation goes back to the early days of award and industry superannuation funds in the 1980s, when he was involved with the establishment of the Australian Retirement Fund (now part of AustralianSuper), where he was the inaugural company secretary," Finlay said.
He said that for the past 15 years, Taylor had been a trusted adviser to the boards and remuneration committees of ASX-listed and other companies on all aspects of executive remuneration, but with a particular focus on the development of effective remuneration policies and frameworks for directors and senior executives.
"With the emerging governance and market environment, superannuation funds need to ensure they are considering the right matters in determining competitive pay structures," Finlay said.
"Ewan's experience in the superannuation industry will be of enormous benefit in helping funds achieve good alignment between their pay design and their culture."
