Deloitte has appointed Maickel Sweekhorst as leader for the firm's consulting financial services technology group.

He has worked in project management roles for over 25 years, consulting to information technology departments, and for the past 12 years has focussed mainly on improving productivity and business alignment within the financial services industry.

Sweekhorst was most recently vice president and managing director financial services for Australia/NZ Capgemini Australia.

"In financial services the winners will be those that are able to deliver a good experience for every interaction with customers, regardless of channel," he said.

"They are able to do this best if they leverage the value of their data," Sweekhorst said.
