Colonial First State GAM names its new head

Neil Cochrane
The former State Street Global Advisers senior executive in Australia, Mark Lazberger, is to become the new chief executive officer of Colonial First State Global Asset Management (GAM).
The Commonwealth Bank announced today that Lazberger, currently based in London with State Street, would be returning to Australia to take up his new position from September 1.
Commonwealth Bank Group executive wealth management head Grahame Petersen said he believed Lazberger would make a strong contribution to the Colonial First State GAM operation as a result of the experience he had garnered while at State Street.
He said Lazberger had demonstrated capability in client relationship management, strategy formulation and management of teams.
The role of chief executive officer at Colonial First State GAM has been filled on an interim basis by the company’s deputy chief executive officer, Neil Cochrane, following the departure of Warwick Negus at the completion of his contract earlier this month.
