Changes at Avenue Capital Management

Avenue Capital Management has announced the appointment of Mandy Penkin to the newly created role of chief operating officer while also welcoming Mark Peper to its board of directors.

Penkin has worked across the spectrum of financial services businesses both in her native South Africa and in Australia.

Penkin immigrated to Australia in 2003 and has worked in the Australian financial services advisory space for the past six years.

Meanwhile, Peper takes on the role of director at Avenue after spending the past eight years as a member of the group’s authorised representative network.

A chartered accountant, he is also chief executive of accounting firm Addison Partners and brings 20 years of financial services experience to the position.

Avenue chairman Stephen Garrett, said: “We’re confident that as our new chief operating officer, Mandy’s experience and exposure to all operational aspects of financial planning in Australia will serve us well as we position ourselves for ongoing, sustainable growth. Mark brings a fresh perspective to the board with an immense amount of business experience and a range of competencies to compliment those of the existing directors.”
