Colonial First State has secured former Perennial Investment Partners national sales and research manager Matthew Harrison to head its investment sales.

The appointment follows a realignment of the retail business development team that has seen the national investment and platform sales teams split into northern and southern regions led by Harrison and Aubrey Roga, respectively.

The new position will see Harrison responsible for overseeing management of the CFS retail investment sales team including researcher relationships, strategic accounts and alliances. He will also be involved in developing products for the retail market.

“In his role, Matthew will drive our specialist end-to-end sales model and the ongoing development of the team’s specialist knowledge of investment products, markets and trends,” CFS general manager of distribution Paul Barrett said.

Prior to Perennial, Harrison held senior sales and management roles at Commonwealth Bank, IOOF and ING.

Harrison will take up the position on August 17.
