CBA appoints non-executive director

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has appointed Genevieve Bell as an independent non-executive director of its board, effective 1 January 2019.
Bell is a professor at the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the Australian National University, the Florence Violet McKenzie chair at the university and director of the Autonomy, Agency and Assurance Institute.
Prior to her roles at ANU, Bell spent 18 years at Intel Corporation where she was vice president, directing Intel’s digital home group, a role she intends to continue.
CBA deputy chair, Catherine Linvingstone, said with Bell’s understanding of tech in society and business, she would bring a “unique and strategic perspective” to the board.
