Caroline Saunders joins Barclays Capital

Caroline Saunders, the former high profile head of research house ASSIRT, has joined Barclays Capital to head up its retail business in Australia.

Reporting to head of distribution, Allen McCristal, Saunders will be responsible for building the company’s funds management business, including developing products for wrap menus and holistic wrap systems.

Saunders, who was appointed to her new position three weeks ago, was previously a director of NAB subsidiary company Antares Capital Partners. Prior to that she held positions at Challenger as head of market research and alliances, and before that was a director at Sealcorp and head of ASSIRT.

Commenting on the announcement, McCristal said Saunders’ appointment was an enhancement to Barclays Investor Solutions’ business in Australia
