The board of AMP Limited last week opted for continuity and experience, electing Catherine Brenner as chairman.

Brenner has been a member of the AMP Limited board since 2010 and was until recently the Chairman of AMP Life and NMLA. She also holds directorships with Boral and Coca-Cola Amatil and was formerly a senior investment banker and corporate lawyer.

Brenner succeeds interim chairman, John Palmer, who retired last week after more than a decade on the board.
