Private equity specialist, Blackstone has announced the appointment of James Carnegie as a senior adviser to the firm, based in Sydney.

A former partner with Archer Capital, Carnegie will focus primarily on Blackstone's private equity activities in Australia.

According to Michael Chae, senior managing director at Blackstone and head of private equity for the Asia Pacific, the addition of Carnegie reflects the firm's commitment to building "top-notch local capabilities" in Australia.

"We have worked closely with James in the past, and are confident that his addition to our team in a senior role will strengthen our pursuit of attractive opportunities in Australia on behalf of our limited partners," he added.
