Exchange traded funds (ETFs) manager, BetaShares, has further expanded its portfolio management and distribution teams.

The company announced this week it had appointed Chamath De Silva as assistant portfolio manager, and Adam O'Connor as manager — distribution.

It said De Silva, who had previously worked within the Reserve Bank, would be providing support to the portfolio management function of the business.

It said O'Connor had joined BetaShares from Bell Potter Securities, where he worked as an associate adviser with a focus on ASX-listed equities and ETFs.

The two new appointments come as the ETF industry continues its strong growth trajectory and follows on from BetaShares' recent launch of a series of exchange traded funds.

Commenting on the appointments, BetaShares' managing director, Alex Vynokur, said the ETF industry was growing rapidly.
