Atfield joins APRA
Former Mercantile Mutual managing director Rodney Atfield has joined the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) as an independent member of the Board.
Atfield is a fellow of the Australian Insurance Institute as well as the Institute of Actuaries in both Australia and London. During his career Atfield has spent time as President of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, and is also a former director of the Insurance Council of Australia and the Life Insurance Federation of Australia.
Retiring from his managing director position last year, Atfield continued his long standing association with the Mercantile Mutual Group until this year, serving as Chairman for Mercantile Mutual Limited.
Atfield takes his 40 plus years of experience in the insurance industry to the APRA Board for a term of five years.
