ASX appoints new CEO
The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) has employed Elmer Funke Kupper as its new managing director and chief executive officer, who is expected to commence his new role in October.
Funke Kupper would receive an annual salary of $1.7 million, which would be subject to his performance, and performance of the group.
His appointment was announced by ASX Chairman, David Gonski, who welcomed Funke Kupper to the company.
"Elmer has enormous experience as chief executive officer of a major Australian listed company, and extensive involvement in the financial services industry as well as in industries that are highly regulated with important and diverse stakeholders," Gonski said.
Funke Kupper's appointment came after Robert Elstone left his role as ASX chief after 11 years.
