ANZ appoints leaders in Asia
ANZ has continued its strategy to expand in Asia with the appointments of Sean West and Ross Foden as the new managing director of Wealth Asia and the head of operations for Asia Pacific respectively. The roles are based in Singapore.
West will lead strategic growth in investment and insurance in selected Asian markets.
West was the general manager of insurance for St George Bank in Sydney, while Foden was responsible for the strategic direction, development and management of HSBC’s Global Resourcing Centre in Malaysia.
The ANZ managing director of Asia Pacific, Alex Thursby, said: “These are two important leadership roles as we continue to push ahead with our strategy to grow ANZ’s business in Asia Pacific to 20 per cent of group earnings by 2012 and create a super regional bank.
“There are significant opportunities in the medium term to build a wealth business to meet the growing aspirations of customers in Asia, particularly in our key markets of Greater China, Indonesia, Vietnam, India and Malaysia,” he said.
“The creation of head of operations role for Asia Pacific reflects the significant operations and transformation agenda which will support ANZ’s growth in the region.”
