AMP Capital Investors has added two new members to its multi-manager team, recruiting James Murray as portfolio manager and Manfred Wong as research analyst.

Murray will be tasked with managing the fixed interest funds within the Future Directions and Responsible Investment Leader suites. His appointment coincided with the temporary departure of portfolio manager Lydia Serafim on maternity leave. Murray will assume her responsibilities and will continue to co-manage the portfolios with Serafim upon her return.

Murray joined AMP Capital from ipac, where he spent five years in various senior positions. Colonial First State is also among his previous employers.

Also joining AMP Capital Investors and based in Hong Kong is Manfred Wong, who will primarily research the Asian hedge fund market and make recommendations on managers and investment opportunities in the Asian universe.

Prior to this appointment, Manfred worked as a hedge fund analyst for Macquarie Funds Group in Hong Kong and as an associate of PricewaterhouseCoopers HK.

Manfred will report to head of investment solutions and senior portfolio manager, total return fund, John Zavone, while Murray will answer to Sean Henaghan, investment director, multi-manager and investment solutions.
