AMP has appointed James Georgeson as its new chief financial officer (CFO) who starts in the role today.

In an announcement, AMP said Georgeson had been the firm’s acting CFO since August 2019 and would now formally join AMP’s leadership team reporting to chief executive Francesco De Ferrari.

“He has proved his capability in the role of acting CFO and deputy CFO, earning the trust of his peers, the broader organisation, and our investors,” De Ferrari said.

“He brings the experience and deep knowledge of AMP that will help to drive the execution of our strategy as we transform into to a client-led, simpler, growth orientated business.”

Prior to his role as acting CFO, Georgeson was deputy CFO at AMP, and was also CFO of AMP’s Australian wealth management business, and CFO of AMP New Zealand.
