American Century poaches ESG head from Schroders


American Century Investments has hired Sarah Bratton Hughes as senior vice president and head of environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainable investing.
She would be responsible for driving the firm’s sustainable investing strategy and managing its ESG research platform. Her team would serve as the center of ESG expertise for the firm including research, assessment tools, ESG engagement and proxy voting tools.
Prior to joining American Century, she was global head of sustainability solutions at Schroders where she worked for 10 years.

Hughes joined the firm on 3 January, 2022, and was based in New York.
