Life risk insurance specialist Omnium has added new features and integration capabilities to their technology research solution, OmniLife.

The announcement comes in light of Midwinter moving to enhance its own insurance modelling capability in its AdviceOS platform, in an effort to increase overall efficiency for financial advisers within advice practices.

Omnium's new system will provide one standard interface for all insurers, allowing them to collaborate on application forms live with clients and send answers from one insurer form to another.

According to Omnium, the new features come in response to a lack of system integration between advisers and insurer systems, with the new software allowing advisers to automatically input client data from their client management system directly into the application form.

"There is currently a gap between the systems advisers use and the insurer systems," said Omnium's director, David King.

"What we've done is bridge that gap in an innovative way, giving risk advisers much needed efficiency to write risk faster and easier."

The new functionality will allow an adviser to apply for cover immediately after they perform their risk research for a client, as Omnium looks to build on the fluidity of its "risk writing experience".

Omnium said the new features come "at an ideal time" when risk advisers are looking for new ways to make their work processes more efficient.
