MLC appoints former Aviva exec to key insurance role

MLC has appointed former Aviva executive Frank Lombardo to the newly created position of general manager of retail insurance operations.
In this position Lombardo will be responsible for MLC customer experience across underwriting, claims and administration services. Lombardo comes to the role having been group director, operations, with Aviva Australia before the National Australia Bank’s acquisition of Aviva last year.
MLC executive general manager of insurance, Andrew Hagger, said Lombardo’s appointment “highlights the importance of the retail market in our insurance strategy”.
At the same time MLC outlined the members of its insurance leadership team, which includes David Evans as general manager — direct, alliances and transformation; Andrew Howard as general manager — group insurance; Sean McCormack as general manager — advice product; and Graham Morris as technical adviser.
The team, including Lombardo, will report to Hagger.
