AMP upgrades insurance
AMP has made enhancements across its individual and group insurance products as well as simplifying processing and end-to-end service time.
AMP said the enhancements should benefit both new and existing customers. More than 33 enhancements to AMP individual insurance products span the Flexible Lifetime - Protection products suite which includes death cover, income protection, trauma and total and permanent disability (TPD) insurance, as well as AMP Flexible Super.
The trauma upgrade includes the addition of type 1 and type 2 diabetes to the AMP Optimum and Premier Cover. Part of the TPD upgrade includes a payment of $10,000 if a person with TPD cover dies without death cover.
Using AMP's automatic plan enhancement feature, existing customers will be upgraded to the broader protections at no additional cost and without a pre-existing condition exclusion.
AMP has also made four improvements to its group insurance offer, including counting employees holding personal insurance towards determining the amassed automatic level of insurance in the employee insurance offer.
AMP has also looked to streamline its claims concierge service. The "refreshed" website is designed to "make it easier for customers and financial planners to do business with us", AMP director of retail risk Michael Rogers said.
A key feature is the ability of customers and financial planners to initiate the claims process online. Claims can also be completed electronically, reducing administration time.
