James Houstone has been appointed Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS') head of debt capital markets for Australia.

He joined the institution in 2007 as a director of the Australian debt capital markets team, and in 2010 was appointed head of financial institutions debt capital markets for Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to head of RBS Australia Andrew Chick, Houstone will join the Australia branch's senior leadership team.

In another senior management shuffle, Gwen Greenberg will step into the position of head of corporate debt capital markets.

Working at RBS for the last 10 years, she previously held investment banking and debt capital market roles in New York.

Chick said both Houstone and Greenberg bring a considerable depth of experience in arranging cross-border financings for Australian insurers into many different markets.

"Under their stewardship, I have no doubt that our DCM team will continue its solid performance, especially as debt markets in Australia and around the region further develop and expand," he said.
