PortfolioConstruction Conference: Emerging markets
At this year’s PortfolioConstruction Conference (August 27-28), Geoff Warren, director of capital markets research at Russell Investments, will examine the case for investing in emerging market equities from the perspective of an Australian investor.
He’ll argue that emerging markets should be viewed as a relatively risky equity sub-class that justifies its position in portfolios as a source of additional returns, rather than as a diversification opportunity.
He’ll show that investors can expect to be adequately compensated for these risks through both risk premiums and alpha generated by active emerging market equity managers.
