Boutique group appoints asset committee

Boutique investment consulting group, Evergreen Consultants, has appointed five men and one woman as members of its asset allocation committee.
Evergreen Consultants said it took months to find individuals who had differentiated and independent markets and economics views.
The organisation's co-founder, Brett Baker, said: "We believe we will avoid ‘group think' and will be able to offer opinions and insights that will be differentiated, by both quality and content, from our peers".
The new member included Angela Ashton, Tom Cottam, Stephen Duchesne, Dr Kingsley Jones, and Daniel Liptak. The firm said they were appointed for the following reasons:
Angela Ashton had 25 years' experience in investment markets, which included senior investment roles at QIC and head of ratings at van Eyk Research and Lonsec;
Tom Cottam had over 40 years' experience in investment markets, which included senior investment roles with AMP, the Abu Dhabi investment authority and being the chief investment officer of the Fiji Provident Fund;
Stephen Duchesne had over 30 years' experience in financial markets. He was formally the managing director and head of Australasian debt markets with Merrill Lynch Australia. He also held senior roles at Credit Suisse, and Midland Bank, and co-founded the Endowment Bond Exchange;
Kinsley Jones had 20 years' experience in financial markets. That included being portfolio manager for the Macquarie Global thematic Fund, global head of quantitative trading research and a member of the value team at AllianceBerstein LP and head of quantitate research and CSFB; and
Daniel Liptak had 20 years' experience in financial markets. He worked in prime broking at UBS and Goldman Sachs. He was a director of ZG advisers and founder of Arkaba advisers.
