Bentham adds third offering to mFund
Bentham Asset Management has added all three of its local offerings to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) mFund service after its high yield fund was included on the service last week.
The other two funds of of the global credit investment manager, which cover global income and syndicated loans, were added to mFund in 2014
Bentham Asset Management Managing Director and Lead Portfolio Manager, Richard Quin, said while there was a recognition of the diversification benefits and comparative return of global credit assets it was still an area overlooked by many Australian investors.
"The breadth of global high yield bond issuers can add geographic, industry and capital diversification benefits for investment portfolios. Over time greater understanding and wider availability of credit products in Australia will contribute to the growing popularity of asset classes — like high yield bonds," Quin said.
The high yield fund added to mFund is actively managed and has exposure to the US high yield bond market through more than 100 bond holdings and has returned more than 12 per cent per annum for the past five years.
