Bennelong Funds Management’s UK subsidiary, BennBridge has launched its third boutique asset management business, BambuBlack, through a partnership with UK financial and professional services firm Smith & Williamson.

The new entity would offer two Asian equities funds, with a focus on growth and income. Jane Andrews, who has over 20 years of fund management experience, would be the portfolio manager of the two funds which were also offered by Smith & Williamson.

Bennelong’s chief executive, Craig Bingham, said that the intention was to bring Australian versions of the BambuBlack funds to the local market in the second half of 2019.

“Our global focus is on partnering with high-calibre investment talent to bring quality funds to market,” Bingham said.

“BennBridge continues to seek opportunities to build high performance focused investment teams, while increasing our global distribution footprint.”

Both companies, Bennelong and BennBridge, currently partner with 10 boutique asset managers in Australia and the UK.

Bennelong also expanded into the US where the firm has its subsidiary, BennBridge US.
