Zurich in life services for advisers
Zurich Australia has appointed Peter Blomfield to the newly created position of regional underwriting manager for NSW and ACT as part of a planned expansion of its underwriting capabilities.
Zurich has already established a local underwriting presence in its West Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland.
Head of life risk Chris Kirby attributed the "strong growth" Zurich has experienced in the Australian life risk business as largely due to this regional underwriting capability.
"We are now expanding this service to NSW/ACT advisers,” Kirby said.
Blomfield was previously Zurich's regional underwriting manager for Victoria and Tasmania.
He joined Zurich Australia in August 2002 as senior underwriter for NSW and South Australia.
He has also worked with MLC, Legal and General Australia, and in Egypt, throughout his career in financial services spanning 30 years.
