AMP Henderson Global Investorshead of retail distribution Krystyna Weston has signalled her intention to leave the group and set up her own business after moving into a consulting role with the group.

Weston shifted from her official role with the group into her new position on Monday this week, with the move resulting in Andrew Keay taking on Weston’s role.

The promotion is a quick move up for Keay who only joined the group in mid September as national sales manager. Keay joined AMP as Weston’s deputy fromPerpetual Investmentswhere he was NSW state manager.

The move has also resulted in head of private clients Giles Craig expanding his role to also cover high-net-worth DIY clients as head of relationships for the group’s retail business.

“We have a number of assets accessible to high level investors that work well in this market space and Giles will add these products and their distribution to his work,” Weston says.

Weston is unable to reveal details about her new business due to ongoing confidentiality agreements but it is scheduled for a January launch and will still be within the financial services market.

As a result, Weston will remain with AMP Henderson until December, which will take her work through the group’s demerger period.

Weston joined AMP in April 2002 fromAssirtwhere she held the role of chief executive for 18 months, and replaced John Anderson who moved to India to head up AMP Henderson’s life insurance joint venture, AMP Sanmar Life.
