Vanguard Australia MD promoted to head Europe


Vanguard Australia managing director, John James has received a major promotion and will become the managing director of Vanguard Europe including becoming part of the company's International Group.
James' promotion was announced today, with the company also announcing the promotion of Colin Kelton from principal of Vanguard's Retail Marketing nad Communications group in the US will succeed James as Australian managing director.
James joined Vanguard in the US in 2008 as head of Broker-Dealer Sales and Distribution before returning to Australia in 2010 to lead the Australian division.
Prior to joining Vanguard, James was the chief executive of Australian Football League team Port Adelaide for four years prior to which he spent more than 15 years in the Australian financial services industry, including with MLC.
