Tyndall Investment Management has appointed Penny Chin to the newly created position of credit and portfolio risk analyst within its fixed interest team.
Chin has more than 10 years experience in credit risk analysis and joins Tyndall after working for three years in a similar capacity with Tower Asset Management.
Prior to Tower, Chin worked at National Australia Bank between 1994 and 2001, where she held a range of positions, including credit analyst and economist.
Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has recruited former ING product distribution and sales national manager Paula Day to develop and manage the group’s master fund and wrap account client base.
Reporting directly to BGI director adviser services Tim Bradbury, Day’s primary responsibility will be to develop and manage relationships with BGI’s key master fund and wrap account client base.
Prior to ING, Day worked for BNP in both client service and sales roles.
Pengana Capital has signed-up former APN Funds Management national sales manager Louise Thomas to push its products to platforms and dealer groups.
Prior to joining Pengana, Thomas worked as a national sales manager, promoting the APN Property Income Fund and has held other positions within the industry including paraplanner, financial adviser and corporate development manager.
David Bleakley has joined Absolute Capital as a non-executive director, taking the number of directors to six.
Bleakley is the founding chairman and managing director of financial planning company Bleakleys.
His extensive career in financial services has seen him hold postings with Advance Bank and the Tower Group.
Bleakley is also the current executive chairman of RetireInvest.
Westpoint Management has appointed Craig Francis as the new portfolio manager for the Westpoint Income Fund.
Francis will be responsible for day-to-day management of the income fund.
He has more than 14 years experience in the funds management industry in both Australia and overseas, including time with Citibank as a research manager.
Gadens Lawyers has appointed a new managing partner, Michael Bradley, following long-time incumbent Jon Denovan’s decision to focus on the firm’s financial services practice. The appointment of Bradley reinforces the firm’s commitment to strengthening its position as a prominent player in the banking, finance and property legal markets, the group says.
Securitor Financial Services Group has recruited former Godfrey Pembroke specialist risk writer Mark Thompson as a new authorised representative.
Thompson is now an associate of Johnston Grocke Financial Services, located at Dulwich in South Australia.
