The insurance and investment arm of HBOS Australia, St Andrew’sAustralia, has announced that it has contracted IRESS as its key provider of financial planning software.

IRESS’ end-to-end financial planning tool, Xplan, will be used within all financial planning businesses at HBOS, including St Andrew’s, Whittaker Macnaught and BankWest Financial Advice.

St Andrew’s director for wealth management Paul Northey said that IRESS was chosen for its market leading position and willingness to customise.

“IRESS is able to provide the scale required for St Andrew’s and the HBOS Australia group to move forward and become a major player within the Australian financial planning industry,” he said.

“We are a rapidly growing organisation and Xplan will provide us with an enhanced infrastructure to assist us to manage our client relationships and transactions in a more seamless and effective manner.”

The software will provide customer-facing advisers with an integrated adviser desktop as well as integrating back-office, administration, marketing and sales management services, said Northey.

“It also provides a range of other configurable services such as campaign management, compliance and management information and can be customised as changes occur to business requirements.”

According to Northey, the last three years have been a substantial period of growth and acquisition in wealth management for St Andrew’s.

“As we continue to grow and expand we also need to continue to reinvest to ensure we have the infrastructure and systems which allows us to manage scale and deliver the services that our clients need.”
