The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) is seeking to advance the value of professional advice through CFP certification.

Australia will be the first country to launch its global ‘CFP mark campaign’, which seeks to raise the awareness and status of the certification through advertising.

FPA chief executive officer Jo-Anne Bloch said the CFP mark is the symbol that consumers should ask for and can rely on when seeking a financial planner.

“The global CFP certification advertising campaign will raise awareness of the CFP mark and its meaning for consumers. The CFP mark is a global symbol of excellence that consumers should be asking for and may rely on when looking for a financial planner,” she said.

Bloch said that financial advice can help alleviate confusion and it’s therefore important to raise the profile of the CFP certification to ensure consumers seek advice from the right people.

“The CFP certification will reassure consumers that their financial planner has attained the highest professional standing. CFP professionals have completed a rigorous program that focuses on ethics, education, experience and a tough examination at the end of the process.”
