Stockbroking and financial services firm Patersons Securities is launching a new specialist fixed income and hybrid securities venture with fixed income specialist Bryan Davies.

The new business, Davies and Partners, will produce research, manage assets and advise on fixed income and hybrid capital markets. It will also service a select number of advisers through a number of investment platforms. The business will play a key role in developing Patersons’ institutional fixed income broking business.

Patersons Securities executive Michael Manford said the launch of the joint venture would provide an opportunity for clients who had demonstrated a high demand for new products and services beyond Australian equities.

Davies was a chief executive and co-founder of Yellow Brick Road and was previously head of structured capital markets and co-head of Financial Institutions Group at UBS.
