ING-owned platform Optimix Investment Management has added four international investment firms to its manager line-up and follows a tweak of its Australian equity managers last month.

Capital International, Wellington Management,MFS Investment Managementand Alliance Capital have all been added to the Optimix panel of international managers, joining previously appointed Templeton Investment Management, after a recent review of the portfolio.

According to Optimix chief investment officer Emmanuel Calligeris, all the investment managers in the portfolio have a global presence, with some more prominent than others in certain regions.

“The focus of the portfolio is to explore the best ideas and company selections from analysts with each manager,” Calligeris says.

“Our analysis suggests that with the current portfolio, style biases can still be evident at the individual manager level but the overall portfolio does not carry style risk.”

However Calligeris says the style biases between growth and value, which impacted heavily on investment manager performance over the past five years, are unlikely to be as extreme in the near future as in previous years.

Last month Optimix also added new managers to the panel for its Australian equities, fixed interest and cash offerings, with 452 Capital,Orion Asset ManagementandBarclays Global Investorsjoining existing managersING Investment Management,Schroder Investment Management AustraliaandInvestors Mutual.

Citigroup Asset Managementwas also appointed to the cash and Australian fixed interest portfolio, joiningCredit Suisse Asset ManagementandUBS Global Asset Managementin the line-up.
