A quick reference website has been launched providing financial advisers with instant access to the variety of rates, dates and thresholds of superannuation, tax and government benefits.

Ratesmate.com.au is updated weekly and includes information on more than 200 topics with 700 web links and 60 topic-specific calculators.

Founder and editor of the site, Sydney-based chartered accountant and financial planning specialist Chris Browne, said the service was designed as a time saving tool for advisers and accountants who constantly needed quick access to updated information.

“Looking up rates, dates and thresholds in books or large government websites can take a significant amount of time,” he said.

“Many professionals are also forced to manually update their books and references to keep them current.

“At their billable rates, this ‘downtime’ can amount to thousands of dollars.”

Subscription to the website also includes regular e-mails notifying users of the latest updates.
