Babcock & Brown has a new independent acting chairman, former Queensland Treasurer David Hamill.

The company announced to the Australian Securities Exchange today that its current chairman, Phil Green, had stepped down but would remain on the board as a director.

It said that it intended to update the market in due course as to a permanent appointment as chairman following a review by the nomination and remuneration committee of the company’s board.
