Mothoneos departs van Eyk
Senior research analyst Dennis Mothoneos has left van Eyk Research after three years with the company to join investment advisory house, Strategic Capital Management.
Mothoneos had worked for van Eyk Research as a research analyst since 2002. He joined from Monitor Money where he had held the position of senior research analyst for three years.
Mothoneos’ move is the latest of several shifts of key research staff.
Just one month ago, Mercer Investment Consulting’s recently established multi-manager investment arm, Mercer Global Investments, lured high profile senior investment analyst Anthony Pesutto away from Lonsec, where he had worked for four and a half years.
Mercer also announced this week that it had recruited Andrew Harrex in the national role of principal and senior consultant.
Harrex has over 20 years experience, most recently as chief investment officer and head of investment consulting at United Funds Management and Mellon Human Resources and Investment Solutions. He had previously worked at Mercer as a consultant from 1995 to 1999.
Standard & Poor’s has also had recent staff changes, with Peter Ward joining as an associate director of its fund ratings team in late July.
Ward is responsible for ratings on property and mortgage funds and has more than 20 years experience in banking and funds management. He was most recently a manager, property risk at the National Australia Bank.
