Morningstar snares Assirt senior analyst
Morningstar has snared a senior executive from competing firm Assirt Research as the group continues to restructure its web solutions division away from core development in favour of tailoring its global products to the Australasian market.
Former Assirt senior technical data analyst Roberto Calero commences today as a senior developer and will initially focus on enhancing Morningstar’s Adviser Workstation offering.
Calero replaces Stephen Mandla who left along with developer Jennifer Chan at the end of April following the group’s strategic change.
The appointment follows the reassignment of Stan Musik, who relocated from the US in March and now heads up the web solutions team in Sydney.
Musik’s team is responsible for a range of Morningstar products, including Total Access, Adviser Workstation, Adviser Access and a variety of implementation requirements such as fund profiles into the X-Ray tool.
The restructure also led to the departure of group business analyst Colin White, who was made redundant in May.
Morningstar chief executive officer Scott Cooley says the group is looking into a range of opportunities to incorporate the broader research company’s products into the local market, but is unable to reveal any more detail at present due to Morningstar considering a public listing in the US.
The team in Australia also includes web developer Jason Wong, designer Claire Edwards and Matt Aldridge, who heads up the help desk.
