Morningstar moves into ETF research
Morningstar Australasia, a provider of independent investment research, has begun publishing qualitative analyst research on Australian-offered exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
The first set of reports covered seven iShares ETFs, the three State Street SPDRs, and the three Vanguard ETFs offered locally, representing 96 per cent of total Australian assets invested in ETFs as of 31 July, 2010.
Morningstar’s ETF reports contained ratings and commentary, as well as performance data. The research house currently employs 15 ETF analysts and tracks around 4,000 ETFs globally.
