MetLife poach AMP’s Lippiatt to lead retail push

Major insurer, Metlife, has put some further shape around its move into the retail life insurance space, announcing that former AMP staffer, Matt Lippiatt had been appointed to lead its retail sales team.

The insurer that Lippiatt would lead its retail sales team, as part of the development of its retail life insurance offer which will launch to advisers and brokers in 2018.
 
The announcement said Lippiatt joined MetLife in the newly created role Head of Retail Sales and had most recently spent 11 years with AMP, where he was responsible for managing licensee relationships and growing retail insurance and platform sales via independent financial advisers around Australia.

Confirming the appointment MetLife chief distribution officer, Chesne Stafford said Lippiatt represented a great combination of experience working across many areas of life insurance, including group, corporate and retail, and with a strong wealth background.

“He is in tune with the needs and wants of advisers and their clients and will be instrumental not only in helping us to deliver our initial retail offer next year, but in working closely with our adviser partners to continuously identify and drive future enhancements,” she said.
