JANA extends SMA offering to Melbourne advice practice

JANA Investment Advisers has announced it will deliver tailored managed account services to a self-licensed advice firm to meet its diverse client needs.
The investment consultant firm has entered into a new agreement with Investor Wealth, a self-licensed advice practice based in Melbourne.
As demand for managed account support grows, JANA will provide its consulting services to assist Investor Wealth with its own tailored separately managed accounts (SMA) offering. The new arrangement will include portfolio construction, risk management and performance monitoring.
Michael Karagianis, head of JANA’s wealth business, acknowledged how the consulting business will support Investor Wealth in launching its personalised SMA program to meet their diverse client needs.
“As the managed account market continues to develop, the portfolio construction and due diligence requirements are becoming increasingly sophisticated and demanding. JANA is well placed with more than 100 investment research staff to support the most sophisticated requirements of wealth clients requiring tailored consulting services,” Karagianis commented.
“We look forward to a productive partnership that aims to deliver the highest quality managed account solutions to Investor Wealth’s clients at exceptional value.”
John Cesario, director of Investor Wealth, said the collaboration marks a significant step in its mission to further support the financial outcomes of its clients.
“We were keen to partner with an asset consultant of the calibre of JANA. Their scale, longevity, expertise and tailored consulting approach to our needs aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering superior managed account solutions to our clients,” Cesario remarked.
JANA Wealth has over 15 clients and approximately $14 billion in funds under advice (FUA). In addition to providing tailored managed account services, it also offers access to wholesale strategies and research for advice practices, private wealth firms and family offices.
The consultancy recently partnered with SMA provider and consultant Wealthtrac as it looks to expand its footprint in the wealth sector.
Its parent company, JANA, has more than $1.4 trillion in FUA as at 30 June 2024. Earlier this year, the firm was chosen as the investment adviser for national financial advice firm Alteris Financial Group, which has offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Rockhampton and Gladstone, and more than 80 staff.
