The investment truth is out there - just ask Scully
Scullers has done it again!
Scullers has done it again!
You may remember, way back in '96, the then chief of Mercy Muts' funds manage-ment business, Paul Scully was basking in the glory of his first literary suc-cess, You and Your Investments. “Stack em high and watch em fly”, all the book-sellers cried. The book was a runaway success, just walking off the shelves.
The ensuing media feeding frenzy was ferocious, but it was nothing on the reac-tions of some of the fans. Scully was repeatedly mobbed at book signings and was even stalked by one obsessive retiree, who just couldn't get enough of his pro-visional tax and gearing strategies.
Not content with resting on his laurels, the now ING international investment jet setter has returned to the fold to pen his second literary masterpiece which, judging from the reaction of most hard nosed critics, looks set to blaze into the bestseller lists.
The book, Investing For Your Retirement, draws on quite an impressive list of 50 cent celebrities - Karl Marx, Thomas Malthus and, er, Kim Beazley - to mull over some of the burning issues facing retirees, or people planning for retirement.
But what of the chief celebrity himself, Mr Scully? Well, let's just say he has been seen digging around in upper crust cafes donning some very Gucci sun-glasses, and no doubt preparing for the onslaught of publicity. Well, at least he'll be ready this time around.
