The Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund (CSRF) has targeted specific groups on social networking website Facebook in an effort to understand and engage Generation Y.
By surveying young people who have expressed interest in this year’s World Youth Day celebrations, CSRF said it was able to gain a better understanding of how to communicate with its younger members.
The research, which was conducted by evolution media, also revealed a number of trends about Generation Y concerning money and financial security.
Less than 40 per cent of respondents indicated they were saving money for later in life and 27.5 per cent said they were already thinking about their retirement.
Almost half of those surveyed said they spent most of their spare money on leisure activities, including shopping, while 27.5 per cent said they saved it.
