HSBC has launched a new product - the 100+ Series International Equity Investment.

Announcing the product launch last week, HSBC said it was aimed at giving retail investors access to four key equity markets with positive growth potential over the medium term - Australia, Singapore, Switzerland and Taiwan.

It said that, in addition, the product would give customers diversified exposure to international equities while giving investors the flexibility to receive potential investment returns either at maturity or annually.

The product is being marketed as 100 per cent capital protected.

Commenting on the product, HSBC Bank Australia head of sales Ian Collins said investors would gain exposure to the potential returns of the Australian equity index (S&P/ASX 200) as well as indices in Switzerland, Singapore and Taiwan.

"Recent market volatility has seen earnings in these indices above their historical average," he said.

"This investment is designed for investors who want access to the upside potential of these equity markets, but with the security of full capital protection in the event of market fluctuations," Collins said.
