HLB International appoints chairman to auditing committee

HLB Mann Judd audit partner Darryl Swindells has been appointed chairman of HLB International (HLBI) audit working group.
Swindells has been a member of the group since its inception in 2003 and was elected to chair the committee during the HLBI European meeting.
The committee itself is responsible for the HLBI quality assurance programme, and the production of the network's audit and assurance manual.
Swindells, who has over 35 years experience in auditing, forensic accounting, fraud prevention and accounting standards, began work at HLB Mann Judd in 1990.
Commenting on his appointment, Swindells said that the increasing globalisation of auditing standards and the complexity of audit requirements has placed increased responsibility on audit firms. He said the audit working group would ensure the quality and compliance of audit work for HLBI's international member firm clients.
