Hat-trick for CommInsure
CommInsure has once again dominated the group risk insurer market, beating its competition in terms of market share for the third year running, according to Plan for Life’s latest data.
The researcher revealed that for the year ended September 2006, CommInsure’s market share was 17.8 per cent, an increase from the previous year’s result of 16.4 per cent.
In the year ended September 2004, the insurer boasted a market share of 19.2 per cent, again the highest amongst its competition.
CommInsure managing director Simon Swanson attributed the success to the insurer’s robust claims service.
“We pride ourselves on our claims service and in the last couple of years have put a lot of focus into our underwriting and claims services,” he said.
“We are focused on looking after our customers and are very responsive to the needs of funds like AustralianSuper.”
CommInsure worked with AustralianSuper to produce an innovative offering that provided the fund’s members with benefit increases of between 10 and 100 per cent.
