Gillett gets top job

SkandiaAustralia has announced the appointment of Wes Gillett as the new head of retail distribution.

Gillett will oversee sales and adviser relationships nationally, and will lead Skandia’s retail platform sales team.

Prior to his new role at Skandia, Gillett was head of sales at ING Australia where he was responsible for all sales of ING investments, platform and insurance products.

He has also worked at Asgard, where he led sales and the ongoing relationship management team for all badged products.

Skandia CEO Ross Laidlaw said: “Wes brings a strong relationship focus with a deep understanding for how platforms can make a dealer and adviser’s businesses efficient to ensure clients get the best advice. Wes’ experience and strategic distribution knowledge will be invaluable in the next journey of the Skandia business.”

Gillett begins his new role today, December 10, 2007.
