The Financial Planning Association of Australia’s (FPA) Future2 Foundation has awarded $149,000 to 15 not-for-profit organisations during its 2022 funding round.

Since 2007, the foundation has awarded over $1.6 million in grants to programs which support young Australians, aged 12-25, who have experienced social, financial or physical adversity.

Julie Berry, chair of the Future2 Foundation, reiterated the importance of the grants in supporting local communities.

“The recipients of the latest round of grants are all grassroots causes that have an impact on their immediate, local communities. They rely on this kind of funding in order to be able to continue their vital activities,” she said.

Successful programs, which ranged from building financial literacy to aiding those with physical or intellectual disabilities, aligned with the objectives and grant criteria of the Future2 Foundation.

The foundation, through a panel of judges and corporate partners, sought out projects which addressed a distinct issue and could utilise the funding to make an immediate and direct impact on disadvantaged youth.

Berry continued: “The money that is distributed goes straight to those that need it, directly impacting the lives of young Australians”.

The grant recipients were:

  1. Heal.ed Tribe Ltd;
  2. Human Nature Adventure Therapy Ltd;
  3. Luke Priddis Foundation;
  4. Taldumande Youth Services;
  5. Collingwood Basketball Association;
