Australian clients were increasingly demanding value for money from their active managers, according to Franklin Templeton Investments managing director Maria Wilton.

“This is reflected in a number of market trends including the focus on risk adjusted excess returns and demand for absolute return and high conviction strategies,” she said.

Franklin Templeton Investments Australia has just announced the launch of its Global Equity ex-Australia strategy for institutional investors in Australia, which will be offered to segregated accounts.

“We believe the Franklin Global Equity strategy fulfils this demand for high conviction strategies by offering Australian institutions a concentrated growth strategy with a proven track record.

“Compelling growth investment opportunities exist in many markets around the world. Our approach to these opportunities incorporates in depth, bottom up research and a longer term perspective,” said Franklin Templeton director of non-US portfolio management Coleen Barleau.

“We look for growth orientated companies with sustainable models and strong free cash flow characteristics globally, regardless of geography or industry.”
