THE Financial PlanningAssociation (FPA) has appointed a senior executive to fill its vacant and now combined head of corporate services and member services roles, along with signing up a new chapter manager.

Former BCA IT and Foster’s Group executive Andrew Miles will join as finance and administration general manager this week and will perform the tasks previously executed by Steve Reynolds and Rohan Burgess, as head of corporate services and member services respectively.

Meanwhile, FPA membership relationship manager Andrew McClure has accepted a three-month secondment as chapter manager ahead of taking on the role after the departure of Nat Fiennes on June 11.

Miles is a chartered accountant by trade and has experience in finance and business strategy.

As general manager finance and administration, he will take on overall responsibility for the finance, information technology, human resources, call centre and general administration of the FPA.

“A priority for Andrew will be to improve the administration of member relationship management, including response to member and consumer enquiries. He has both the financial and the management skills to apply to this broad and very critical portfolio and to maximise the use of all resources to deliver good results,” FPA chief executive officer Kerrie Kelly says.

As chapter manager, McClure reports directly to Kelly, and expands his membership relationship role to now include responsibility for the co-ordination of and communication with the 33 FPA chapters throughout Australia.

“We are looking to Andrew to expand his member services experience into the Chapter co-ordination role and to reflect the FPA’s focus on the delivery of member services.

“He will also help to ensure that FPA members around the country have an effective voice in their professional association,” Kelly says.

Both positions are based in Melbourne.

At last count, the number of staff employed at the industry organisation has dropped from 86 to less than 50 after it began restructuring six months ago.

Some of the notable departures include: public policy and government relations manager, Con Hristodoulidis; policy and professional standards manager, Christina Kalantzis; compliance manager, Robert Tohill; and learning product manager, Belinda Robertson.
