MLC has added eight new funds to its MasterKey investment menu, taking the total number of funds available on the platform to 49.

The new funds are the MLC Diversified Debt Fund, Northward Australian Equities Fund, Challenger Select Australian Share Fund, Antares Lodestar Absolute Return Trust, Platinum Asia Fund, BlackRock Global Allocation Fund BlackRock Global Small Cap Fund and T. Rowe Price Global Equity Fund.

“We’ve added funds where we’ve identified gaps in our offer, such as in the emerging markets space, in accordance with what our advisers are telling us they want,” said MLC Platforms general manager Anthony Waldron.

“At the end of the day, MasterKey is a baby wrap and our number one priority is to have high quality funds on the menu, not quantity.”

Masterkey now offers “everything needed by advisers who like to follow a core plus satellite approach to portfolio construction”, Waldron added.

“It has a market-leading multi-manager offer through the seven MLC MasterKey Horizon Funds and more than 40 additional funds that advisers can select as appropriate to meet their clients’ individual needs.”
