Credit Suisse has strengthened its Australian private banking division, appointing a director, two vice presidents, and an assistant vice president.

Andrew Bird will take up the position of director, senior relationship manager, and Melissa Anderson will be the assistant vice president, corporate advisory services. Paul Aliprandi and Lucinda Bloom will become vice president of wealth planning and structured derivatives respectively.

Nick Kalikajaros, head of private banking in Australia, said: “Less than 12 months [after] establishing Credit Suisse’s Australian private banking division, we have built a strong team of relationship managers, investment services and product specialists.

“The four quality hires today highlight the continued growth of our private banking business and will further strengthen our Australian private banking team,” he added.

Bird was previously a director in CitiGroup, and a senior portfolio counsellor and director, investments division, for CitiGroup in Singapore. Anderson was a senior associate, investment banking, with Merrill Lynch. Aliprandi was a senior manager in the tax division of Ernst and Young and Bloom was the vice president of structured products at JP Morgan and a former director of structured products and manager of research relationships with CitiGroup.
